President Hakainde Hichilema has today addressed the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium. It is the first time in Zambia’s history that a sitting President has been invited to address the EU Parliament. During his visit he has also undertaken a series of high-level bilateral meetings and participated in a roundtable discussion on the ‘Relationship between trade and food security’.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation wishes to inform the Nation that Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia is scheduled to undertake a State Visit to the Republic of Kenya from 15th to 16th June, 2022.

President Hichilema today attended the handover of the Kenneth Kaunda International Conference Centre to the government in Lusaka.

President Hakainde Hichilema has held a telephone conversation with His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China.

President Hichilema this morning concluded his keynote address at the European Union (EU)-Zambia Economic Forum, which this year focused on the theme of ‘Economic Transformation through Green Growth’.

The President is shortly expected back in Lusaka following his participation at the Investing in African Mining Indaba, where he delivered a keynote speech and sent a clear message to the world that Zambia is open for business to those who wish to work collaboratively on projects that will support government’s central objectives of job creation and economic turnaround.

The Republic of Zambia and the European Union have joined forces to organize the EU- Zambia Economic Forum 2022. This first edition of a high-profile EU-Zambia business event, under the auspices of H.E. President Hakainde Hichilema, will take place in Lusaka from 18 – 19 May 2022, with a focus on green investment.

Today, the 24th of March, 2022, we decided to work from the Ministry of Health on a fact finding mission to fully understand the drugs situation through meetings with staff at headquarters and the provincial medical directors via Zoom.

Canadian High Commissioner to Zambia, Her Excellency Pamela O'Donnel visited us at State House this morning for discussions that centred on our long bilateral relations, which are based on mutual respect, and founded on our Commonwealth ties.
