HH on State Visit to Israel.

During our State visit to Israel this afternoon, we set aside time to walk amidst the Holy sites of the Old City of Jerusalem, where revered Kings and prophets of the Old Testament once lived and conveyed the divine Word of God.

We were profoundly honoured in visiting the Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall, a place that is held with immense respect by millions of pilgrims from many Faiths, and serves as a significant site of prayer and dedication.

We were also blessed to pay our respects at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified, entombed, and ultimately resurrected. This soul-stirring experience reaffirmed our unwavering faith in Christianity, which has been deeply rooted in our hearts since our earliest days.

Beyond the strengthening of our personal faith, this pilgrimage further emphasized the essence of social justice, peace, and unity for all humanity, as advocated by the teachings of Christ. The core Christian values that our country embraces align with the principles of service to both our fellow human beings and our Creator.

We have always emphasised that the Body of Christ is one and this principle was underscored today when we witnessed diverse pilgrims of Christians all worshiping the same God. Ultimately we all ride on the common heritage of what has been divinely passed on of our Christian Faith, from generation to generation for thousands of years.

We extend our profound gratitude to the gracious people of Zambia for granting us the opportunity to serve them, and their unwavering support holds great value in our hearts. May the Spirit of Christ guide our Nation in all in our endeavors to promote goodwill and compassion throughout our country.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure.

May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels."

(Psalm 122:6,7)

Shalom!

Hakainde Hichilema,

President of the Republic of Zambia.
