HH Opens Innovation Africa 2022

We are honoured to have been invited to officially open the 10th edition of the Innovation Africa 2022 Ministerial Summit hosting over 300 delegates from across Africa and other parts of the world, the first of it's kind in Zambia.

We were joined by our elder brother the former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellence Dr. Jakaya Kikwete, who is also current Board Chairperson for Global Partnership for Education and other international dignitaries.

Under the theme "Digital Transformation in Education and Skills Development for Africa" we called for joint efforts towards advancing innovation, transformative education and skills development on our continent, through impactful partnerships between government and industry.

We reiterated our call for countries to increase investments in education for skills development through digital technologies, digital innovation, as well as information and communications technology infrastructure to spur innovation on the continent.

We also called on continuous revision of the education systems to respond to the rapid changes in our economic activities as well as realign it to the needs of our citizens who may be differently gifted in various talents.

Our education systems should equally be teaching our citizens to have a mindset of working for themselves and create own jobs away from the system where they are oriented to working for other people.

We challenged the delegates to come up with real solutions that answer to African problems especially in addressing the huge youthful population.

We later took time to tour stands showcasing some technological innovation activities, especially for our young people.
