We have today witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a landmark Joint Development Agreement (JDA) between Zambia and the United Arab Emirates, aimed at facilitating massive investment in renewable energy in our country.

We have safely arrived from Angola where we undertook a state visit on the invitation of counterpart and brother President João Lourenço. We sincerely thank our Angolan brothers and sisters for the warmth hospitality during our stay there.

The relationship between Zambia and Angola is historic, and we have for many years enjoyed a peaceful coexistence.

Following yesterday's tour of Maamba Collieries and and Kariba North Bank Power Stations, we met today with various stakeholders to chart a way forward in resolving the electricity challenges our country is currently experiencing.

Today we undertook site visits to Maamba Collieries, and Kariba ZESCO power plants to fully appreciate the extent of our electricity generation capacities as a country.

During our visit to Chongwe today, we paid courtesy calls on our traditional leaders Chieftainess Nkomenshya Mukamambo II and Chief Bunda Bunda.

Today we officiated at the Zambia National Service (ZNS) Golden Jubilee celebrations in Lusaka's Chongwe District under the theme "Celebrating 50 Years of Rendering Unbroken Service and Fostering Development to Our Motherland Zambia".

We have arrived safely from the United States of America where we attended a high level multilateral US-Africa Summit with several fellow Heads of State and Government on one hand, and the United States Government led by President Joe Biden on the other.

We attended a reception held by President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, after a productive day at the US-Africa Leaders Summit, which saw us conclude a $150 million investment pledge in our mining industry.

We have left for Washington DC, in the United States to participate in the 'US Africa Leaders' Summit' scheduled for 13th December 2022.

We held a National Management Committee (NMC) meeting of our party senior leadership today. We deliberated on a number of issues aimed at strengthening the party through peaceful coexistence at all levels of our organisation.

This morning, we held a meeting with the Zambia Tourism Agency Board in our Tourism Capital, Livingstone.

We were delighted and honoured today to have been among hundreds of parents and guardians who witnessed the graduation ceremony of students at Chipata College of Education.

We thank the people of Eastern Province for a rousing welcome accorded to us when we arrived at Chipata Airport this morning.

This morning, we officiated at the first ever 'Economic Growth Forum', themed "Delivering Economic Growth For Zambia." This theme is in concert with the platform on which we were elected to deliver all inclusive and sustainable development.

Held a constructive consultative meeting with the Zambia Farmers' Union Board (ZNFU) led by, its President Mr. Jervis Zimba yesterday at State House. We discussed a wide range of matters around farming and food security and the Board's views on possible solutions to the challenges farmers face in this particular business.

In our first year in office, we undertook to restore Zambia's image abroad. In our second year we will spend time to unlock impediments to private sector development. This will unlock job creation and make Zambia a preferred destination for investment.

Today we participated in the commemoration of the World Children's Day, under the theme "A Better Future For Every Child".

In our continued aspiration to tour all parts of our country, we have today left for the North Western Province for a two day working trip, in order to check on various challenges facing our people first hand, and also inspect developmental projects being carried out in that part of our nation.
