HH Visits His Royal Highness Chief Mungaila

This afternoon in Namwala, we were greatly honoured and privileged to have joined His Royal Highness Chief Mungaila to celebrate the colorful Shimunenga Traditional Ceremony of the Ila people of Southern Province.

Shimunenga is an age-old ceremony in which the Ila speaking people pay their respect to their ancestors, an occasion that culminates into an exuberant display of their history and cattle wealth.

We thanked all traditional chiefs for being the custodians of our heritage and culture and encouraged them to continue working to promote peace and national unity.
