HH Holds Meeting With Traditional Leaders In House of Chiefs

This morning, we held a meeting with traditional leaders in the House of Chiefs in Lusaka.

During the meeting, we discussed matters of national importance and the key role traditional authorities play in development and resource optimisation.

We assured the traditional leaders that development to their areas will be delivered in an equitable manner. Every traditional leader will be respected, this also extends to their succession systems which Government will not interfere with.

In our quest to foster development, we will not leave anyone behind, and this is why through the enhanced and increased CDF, traditional leaders have been included.

We want peace for development, and this we will do.

Having taken note of their Royal Highnesses submissions in areas of inclusive development, we made it clear that this is being done, and we shall work together to ensure that no stone is left unturned.

Traditional leaders are our partners in development as they existed way before the current structured national leadership.

Hakainde Hichilema

President of the Republic of Zambia.
