President Hichilema Tips Investors To Prioritise Value Addition

President Hakainde Hichilema says the New Dawn administration wants investors to prioritise value addition to strengthen Zambia’s industrial base.

President Hichilema held discussions with China National Chemical Group chairman Mo Dingge at State House today. The President said Zambia values its strong and growing partnership with the People’s Republic of China, which has now been elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic and Cooperative Partnership. “We are particularly encouraged by the emphasis on value addition within Zambia, because this is a vital step towards inclusive growth and industrial transformation. “We want to see a meaningful partnership that delivers real benefits to our communities and helps position Zambian-made products for export to our region and the vast Chinese market,” President Hichilema said.

President Hichilema said it is encouraging to hear about China Chemical Group’s planned investments through Sino Great in Chilanga District, a project that will be focused on phosphate, ammonium phosphate, phosphoric acid, gypsum, and related industrial and agricultural chemicals. “These investments will create jobs, boost local enterprise, and contribute to skills development,” said President Hichilema.
