HH Visits Walvis Bay Dry Port

We visited the Walvis Bay Dry Port to familiarise ourselves with the operations of this very critical facility that is a significant facilitator to the economic growth and trade for Zambia, Namibia and the SADC Region.

We appreciated the efficient services and challenges of the Dry Port and expressed our profound gratitude to the Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) for managing and operating the Port in a manner that has facilitated efficiency.

We urged the Port Management to continue partnering with us and also advise us on areas of collaboration and those that require urgent attention to leverage on the services of the facility.

We also undertook a tour of NAMCOR, Namibia's oil jetty facility at the Port of Walvis Bay to appreciate its operations. We will do everything possible to see to it that we land fuel in Zambia at a cheaper cost.

Hakainde Hichilema
