HH Presides Over Virtual SADC Summit
Today, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) convened an Extraordinary Organ Troika Summit of Heads of State, which took place virtually.
As the incoming Chairperson of this organ, we had the honor of presiding over the summit and engaging in discussions with fellow Heads of State and Government officials regarding the prevailing security situation in our region, specifically in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique.
Based on comprehensive reports presented by the SADC Secretariat and other relevant agencies, we collectively agreed upon a series of measures aimed at addressing the challenges faced in certain parts of our region. These measures are intended to foster enhanced peace and security, thus facilitating the smooth operations of our respective countries.
We reaffirmed the vital importance of a peaceful environment as an indispensable prerequisite for economic development and prosperity for our people. By actively addressing these security concerns, we are committed to creating a conducive atmosphere for progress and well-being throughout the region.
We assure that we will remain fully engaged in addressing these and other pertinent matters pertaining to regional security. Our dedication to fostering peace and stability within the SADC region remains resolute.
