Enhancing Bilateral Ties: Productive Meeting with President Samia Suluhu Hassan

Held a bilateral meeting with Her Excellency, President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, and her delegation as she concluded her State visit to our country. Our discussions centered around our nations' alumni and how to upgrade and enhance our economic development and cooperation.

We conveyed specific directives to ministers and their team of experts, emphasizing tangible outcomes over endless exchanges of ideas.

We mutually recognized the strong desire of our citizens for accelerated development that creates jobs, business opportunities, and access to food. We stressed the need to avoid procrastination and blame games and instead focus on well-defined solutions to challenges that hinder trade and investment between our two countries.

Furthermore, we encouraged the swift restoration of the TAZARA Corridor to facilitate the efficient movement of goods and petroleum products. In addition, we suggested that our Tanzanian counterparts consider the Lobito corridor as complementary rather than competitive.

Hakainde Hichilema,

President of the Republic of Zambia.
