World Leaders Line Up to Congratulate Re-Elected President Hichilema

Congratulations have poured in from across the globe following President Hakainde Hichilema's re-election, with some of the world's most powerful leaders and long-standing partners hailing his second-term victory and Zambia's democratic credentials.
The United States was among the first of the major powers to respond, with the US Embassy in Lusaka congratulating President Hichilema and pointing to a partnership spanning 62 years. Washington said it looked forward to advancing shared prosperity, regional security and global health under his administration.
Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated President Hichilema on his re-election, with Beijing's foreign ministry underlining the strength of ties between the two nations. India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi also sent his "heartiest congratulations," describing India's partnership with Zambia as "multifaceted" and pledging to strengthen relations further.
The message of goodwill extended to the Middle East, where the King and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia congratulated the President, reflecting Zambia's widening diplomatic and investment reach. Israel's President Isaac Herzog likewise congratulated Mr Hichilema, expressing confidence in Zambia's continued progress.
Closer to home, Angolan President João Lourenço praised the outcome as "a reflection of the democratic maturity of the Zambian people," while the Democratic Republic of Congo also extended its congratulations, underlining the importance of regional cooperation.
For President Hichilema, the flood of goodwill offers a strong diplomatic platform as he begins a second term focused on jobs, investment and economic growth, positioning Zambia as an increasingly respected partner on the world stage.
