President Hichilema Calls for Unity in Post-Election Address

President-Elect Hakainde Hichilema has appealed to citizens across the political divide to unite and uphold national peace, assuring that development will be distributed equitably regardless of how individuals voted.
In his post-election address to the nation, the Head of State directed ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) members and alliance partners to celebrate with humility and refrain from provoking electoral competitors.
President Hichilema emphasised that political contests must remain platforms for public service rather than triggers for conflict, noting that meaningful socio-economic transformation cannot occur in the absence of tranquility.
The President further warned that the state will firmly defend the country’s peace and sovereignty by thwarting any schemes aimed at instigating instability, stressing that militia-style conduct remains alien to Zambia’s democratic values.
