President Hichilema Joins Adventist Youth for Big Sabbath Worship in Lusaka

President Hakainde Hichilema on Saturday joined the Adventist Youth Conference for Big Sabbath worship at the Blessing Centre in Lusaka, worshipping alongside thousands of young Zambians ahead of the 13 August general election.

The President described the service as an inspiring occasion, praising the energy of the young worshippers and their commitment to the gospel. He thanked the leadership of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the kind invitation to the special gathering.

Turning to the coming polls, President Hichilema used the occasion to renew his call for calm, asking the Church to keep the nation in prayer for a peaceful campaign, a peaceful vote and a peaceful result.

He appealed directly to young people to serve as ambassadors of peace and unity before, during and after the elections. "No young Zambian should ever be used as an instrument of violence, by any politician, of any party," he said, adding that their future was worth far more, and that peace remained key to the country's sustainable development.

The President closed his remarks with a message of faith, declaring that God is Lord over the nation and praying for continued blessings over Zambia.

The appearance forms part of a busy campaign schedule as the President crosses the country in the final stretch before polling day, pairing his development message with repeated appeals for a peaceful election.
