President Hakainde Hichilema Praises U.S. President Donald Trump’s Peace-Building Efforts

President Hakainde Hichilema has commended United States President Donald Trump for his peace-building initiatives across the globe, describing them as vital to international stability and economic growth.

Speaking at State House after receiving a debrief from visiting U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Caleb Orr, President Hichilema said the world continues to be affected by conflicts in regions such as the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and Russia.

He noted that insecurity in any part of the world poses a threat everywhere, stressing that peace is the foundation for investment and trade.

The Head of State further emphasised Zambia’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the U.S. Government on matters of mutual interest, particularly in trade and investment.

Assistant Secretary Orr said his visit has presented an opportunity to reset relations between Zambia and the United States, adding that stronger ties would unlock more assistance to spur real growth for both nations.
