Let’s continue walking the journey of development – President Hichilema
President Hakainde Hichilema says voting for UPND amounts to endorsing national development.
In December 2024, Government, through Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development, signed a US$145, 270, 114.50 public private partnership (PPP) concession agreement with Borderway Capital investments to upgrade to international standards the 111-kilometre Solwezi – Kipushi Border dusty road in North-Western Province.
President Hichilema was in Mushindamo district today to signal the start of the construction of the road that is strategic in improving trade between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
“Today is a happy day because we are walking the road of bukomo (development). In my 15 years of being in opposition, I used this road several times and it was a difficult road to move on,” the President said.
He thanked the people of North-Western Province for believing in the UPND and its vision of development.
“I want to thank the people of Zambia who voted for us on 12th August 2021. It is your vote that has allowed us to deliver development here in North-Western Province and across Zambia.
“So let’s continue walking the journey of development. Get your NRCs and voter’s cards quickly. Your vote represents development such as the tarring of this Solwezi – Kipushi Road. I want to remind you that development is in sight now,” said President Hichilema.
