President Hichilema Vows to Fast-Track Northern Province Development

President Hakainde Hichilema spent Saturday criss-crossing Northern Province, meeting communities in Lupososhi, Lunte, Luwingu and Senga Hill as he wrapped up a series of grassroots engagements with a promise to accelerate development across the region.

The President struck a confident but honest tone throughout the day. He told residents that the UPND Government had delivered projects in all ten provinces since taking office, but was candid that more work remains to be done to lift the living standards of ordinary Zambians. Real progress, he said, had to reach every district and every household.

Addressing residents of Lupososhi, President Hichilema pledged continued investment in education, health, agriculture and business, promising to attract the kind of investors who create jobs and open new opportunities for local people. In Lunte, he assured the community it would keep receiving its fair share of national development, with more roads and stronger support for local enterprise to help small businesses grow.

The President also reminded communities of the road travelled so far, recalling that his Government had inherited a heavy external debt from the previous Patriotic Front administration. That burden, he said, was steadily being brought under control as Government restored economic stability, allowing the gains to filter down to ordinary Zambians.

In Luwingu, he committed to building more schools and health facilities to widen access to quality public services, while singling out agriculture as a national priority that would strengthen food security and create employment. Closing the day in Senga Hill, he promised better roads in both rural and urban areas, stronger farming support and improved health facilities.

Across every stop, the message was the same: the foundations are laid, and with continued support, Northern Province will keep moving forward.
