Zambia, China sign nine MoUs
Zambia and China today signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in the fields of health, education, media, mining, among others.
The signing of the MoUs was done at State House after bilateral meeting between President Hakainde Hichilema and Premier of China Li Qiang.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mulambo Haimbe and China’s Ambassador to Zambia Han Jing signed the protocol between the general administration of customs of China and Zambia’s Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock for heat cocoon to be exported from Zambia to China.
Minister of Health Eliah Muchima and Mr Han signed the MoU between Zambia and the National Health Commission of China on carrying out the “Smile Journeys” Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery Project in Zambia.
Minister of Information and Media Cornelius Mweetwa and Mr Han signed the MoU between Zambia News and Information Agency (ZANIS) and China Media Group, and Xinhua News Agency
University of Zambia (UNZA) acting vice-chancellor Professor Trywell Kalusopa and Mr Han signed the MoU between UNZA and China Media Group
Minister of Defence Ambrose Lufuma and China International Development Cooperation Agency chairman Mr. Chen Xiaoden exchange notes of China Aid Mealie Plants.
Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Jack Mwiimbu and China’s vice minister of foreign affairs Miao Deyu signed an agreement on mutual visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic, service passports and passports for public affairs.
Minister of Finance and National Planning Situmbeko Musokotwane and National Development and Reform Commission vice-chairperson Liu Sushe signed cooperation plan on jointly promoting the Belt and Road Initiative.
Commerce, Trade and Industry Chipoka Mulenga and China’s vice minister of commerce Ling Ji to sign an MoU on strengthening economic cooperation on industrial and supply chain.
Minister of Mines and Minerals Development Paul Kabuswe and Mr Ling signed an MoU on cooperation in green minerals.
