President Hichilema Mourns Kabimba Senior
President Hakainde Hichilema says senior citizen Philip Jameson Kabimba, who died on October 17, 2025, believed in hard-work, discipline, focus and unity.
The President was speaking at the funeral of Mr Kabimba in Shamwete village in Shibuyunji district, Central Province, today.
Mr Kabimba, 89, was for many years a supporter of the United Party for National Development (UPND). He is the father of Economic Front (EF) president Wynter Kabimba.
President Hichilema said he had to find time to attend the burial of Mr Kabimba because he was so dear to him. “Our friendship continues even in death. Where we can be of any help to the Kabimba family, we will be available to do that,” said the President, who was accompanied by several ministers and other senior Government officials.
At the same event, the President rallied people to register en mass to vote in the August 2026 general elections.
Mr Wynter Kabimba described his father as a man with clarity of thought and full of forgiveness. He was interred today within Shamwete village.
